Today 10-30-20, we finally got to watch the helicopter fly.  It was very exciting. He flies in and picks up a bag that holds 2000 pounds of crushed rock and flies it to where the pole will go.  Then he comes back and picks up the pole.  It only takes the guys less than a couple of seconds to connect him.  When he flies in he comes from the south and up the meadow and then connects the load and hovers and pulls straight up until the line is taunt and then goes up higher and then he is off to the north west.  They like our spot because he doesn't have to fly over the community, he goes around .  It takes him about 5 minutes to make the circle and go again.  It will be longer turn a round as he goes down the canyon.  There is always something going on at the same time, while the helicopter is flying in and out they are delivering rock for the truck to drive out into the meadow and also setting up porter potties.  Then the dump truck with the rock gets stuck trying to leave so Joe on the backhoe has to push him out.  It isn't dull around here.  Enjoy!

These 1st pictures shows the guys from Rokstad, they put together the poles and get them ready for lift off.  Very hard working group of guys.  They were busy this morning getting the bags in place for lift off and then get the poles with straps for the helicopter to lift.

They put more rock for us by the cabin.             They are putting down rock in the meadow, we had 1 experienced driver and 1NOT.  Had a little hiccup on the rock, this batch came all the way from Sanger and it was BROWN.  It turned out ok out in the meadow but told them it wasn't going to go up where we have the gray/blue rock.

Lional and Sammy watching as Joe pushes out the dump truck.     This is Zack, he is charge of this operation and works for SCE.        1st they lift the bag of rock for the pole

The helicopter comes and hovers over the pole and the guys hook him up, this is a fast process, then takes the slack out and begins to lift.  These pictures are of different poles being lifted but shows the process of them.  My camera doesn't take pictures that fast so I put them together.  They lifted 9 poles yesterday, some from a different location but most from the meadow.  They will do this process every 3 days if they can get the holes dug, having a hard time with that.

Porta potties getting set up.      These are some pictures of the drive way coming in and the water truck washing off the dirt and dust
