Tree Projects
Area
that we cleared a couple of years ago.
Before they started cutting, this shows the large dead trees and in the background the (jungle) of little trees.
Looking
down from the driveway across the arena
Looking
across the arena towards the meadow above. Below large dead trees.
Starting to cut around the round pen
The
guys get the smaller trees cleared out both dead and alive. They got it
all chipped an cleaned up and then the logger comes in and cuts and falls the
big trees. The boys come back and clean up the mess.
Below we are cutting and splitting the wood for firewood and stacking in shop (4 cords) and then the c-train around 25 cords.
Some
day we will get back to milling.
The Loggers are back to get the 2 big fir trees that Blake cut down.
They brought their big equipment to get them down off the hillside and take them
out to where a logging truck will take them away. They are too big for us
to mill or cut for firewood. Amazing equipment and how they use it.
Ready for the logging truck
There
were 3 very large dead trees up by out neighbors property and ours that the
loggers had to take down. You can see the 2 dead tops, it is actually 1
tree.
Next is the sad cutting of our biggest Ponderosa Pine tree. It was down by
the round pen and all of a sudden we walked by and it just had pitch running out
of it. The Beatles had found it. It was 178 ft tall.
This project took about a month to complete, then we went on to the rock
project. Now we have the Castle Fire going on. Never a dull moment.
